The phrase ‘digital marketing’ is
essentially a scam.
It has no real meaning. Everyone uses it
to apply to what they are selling and few have a clue what they are
doing.
Many people know a little of
the digital side but very few
understand marketing.
So they peddle themselves as ‘digital
marketers’ when in reality they are people who know the mechanics
of how to put an ad on a digital media. That’s mechanics, not
marketing.
So, from a potential consumer point of
view, anything that says ‘digital marketing’ is probably a scam.
From courses, to books, to jobs, to opportunities, to businesses
offering services, they are all some form of scam unless they can
clearly teach the marketing first and then show
it’s applicability to all the different media online collectively
called digital.
