Money worship is the only reason you believe rich people should set the standard for how the rest of the society should behave.
Temi Otedola officially got married last week (I believe she’s been married for a while though but just did her white and traditional marriage) and now POOR and ENTITLED MEN won’t allow women to hear word.
“Temi, a billionaire’s daughter, took her husband’s surname but poor men’s daughters nye nye nye….”
“Otedola, a billionaire, advised his daughter to succumb to her husband because he’s her boss, but poor men’s daughters nye nye nye….”
For starters, I don’t give a damn about what Temi, Timi, or Temu decides to do with their name. My name is Mavis and I know my rights and obligations in a marriage.
It’s not mandated anywhere that a woman must adopt her husband’s surname after the wedding; therefore, any woman who does it should do it out of her own volition.
But personally, I’ll always advocate against it as I’m learned and know the patriarchal and misogynistic narrative behind the practice.
Secondly, until Temi shows us her passport where we can see evidence of an official change of name, I’ll just take her decision to adopt “Ajibade” on social media and at social functions as a formality.
Nobody knows her husband as Oluwatosin Ajibade; instead, we all know him as Mr Eazi. Adopting such a common surname that’s also not associated with anybody of note would be a dumb arse move even for the most submissive woman with a serious case of identity crisis.
Thirdly, only an idiot would take marriage advice from Femi Otedola, especially when his disregard and disrespect for his wife have been of public knowledge for over a decade.
Back in 2016, two sisters threatened to release evidence of his affair with them unless he had paid them some money. He reacted by getting the two women arrested.
Just because his daughter, Florence, aka Cuppy, does wonderful PR for him by posting about how he leased three Ferraris for his daughters, bought her an apartment in Monaco, sends her loving texts, etc., doesn’t change the fact that the man is probably just another crappy husband.
Temi is entitled to her choices and her father can spew all the misogynistic nonsense he wants. However, their wealth will NEVER make them the standard.
Over here, we don’t worship money; instead we worship knowledge.
And it’s by the knowledge vested in me that I hereby declare that your attempt to use two strangers to push forth a narrative that’s not sustained by any law is futile.
With that being said, go and work on your low self-esteem so you’ll stop following the rich blindly.
