Extramarital Tragedy: 42-Year-old Man Killed Fighting Over Woman

It was a night of mixed feelings for residents of Obaruyi Street
in Egor quarters, Benin City, Edo State of Nigeria when two married
men engaged themselves in exchange of blows on meeting at their
lover’s apartment in the area.
The physical combat which occurred on December 27, 2018 ended
when one of the men collapsed and was later confirmed dead at the
hospital while the other fled the house immediately.
The deceased, identified by the police as Mr. Dickson Igbinoba,
father of four, was allegedly killed by one Mr. Osakioya Egavoen,
41 with five children, during the fisticuffs inside the woman’s
room.
The woman, Ms. Osasogie Edo-Ekhator, 37, mother of four children
for two other men watched with chagrin as her two “lover guests”
unleashed deadly aggression on each other.
Police hinted that trouble started when the deceased who was
cooling off in the lady’s room picked her call only to discover
that the caller was another man.
At the end of the conversation, the caller who turned out to be
Mr. Osakioya Egavoen allegedly drove to the lady’s residence where
he met his rival “lover boy,” Mr. Dickson Igbinoba.
A brief altercation, said to have ensued between the duo,
climaxed in a fight during which late Mr. Dickson Igbinoba
collapsed as Mr. Osakioya Egavoen swiftly fled the scene.
He was arrested by men of Ogida police station after few days of
a manhunt.
Checks by our reporter revealed that the suspect’s wife and
children had fled their homes for fear of attack by aggrieved
members of the bereaved family.

Nwabuzor said the woman with her alleged killer lover had been
arrested and they have made statements.
While stating that investigation had commenced, he advised
residents to always control their emotions to avoid unforeseen
circumstances of this nature.
The sad and shameful extramarital affairs that led to the
unfortunate incident occurred about 8pm on December 27, 2018.

married men engaged in a fight upon meeting at their lover’s
apartment. Witnesses said Dickson collapsed and was later confirmed
dead at a hospital while the other lover, Osakioya Egavoen, aged
41, fled.
Witnesses said the woman identified as Osasogie Edo-Ekhator,
aged 37, watched helplessly as the two men exchange blows. Osasogie
was said to have four children for two different men. Trouble
started when late Dickson picked the woman’s call while relaxing in
her room and discovered that it was another man calling her.
Sources said Osakioya, apparently enraged, drove to the woman’s
residence and engaged Dickson in a fight. Osakioya was later
arrested by men of Ogida police station.
Edo Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor
confirmed to our correspondent that the woman and her fleeing
lover, Osakioya, have been arrested. Nwabuzor said they have made
useful statements to the police and urged residents to always
control their emotions to avoid unforseen circumstances.
